In 2010 the stars aligned and brought together four gifted musicians, each with his own unique background, and they would form a single purpose: creating an original yet tasteful sound to energize and inspire awe among audiences far and wide. Unsatsfied with the musical status quo of the Midwest, Second Story decided to carve its own niche with a technically adept blend of alternative rock, progressive rock, pop, jazz, and fusion, all with subtle touches of the modern jam band. Part of Second Story's mystique entailed spending eighteen months crafting their own sound, composing, building chemistry, and developing an unforgettable setlist for an audience of all walks of life and all musical backgrounds. In this time the band recorded their first EP, containing six original songs showcasing not only commercial sensibility but also originality and technical ability. Resisting the urge to play shows prematurely, the time spent behind the scenes has without a doubt established an unmistakable sense of professionalism.
